Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and Sault Ste. Marie Michigan Host Joint Council / Commission Meeting

The City Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario City Council and members of the Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan City Commission will gather tonight for an important meeting to discuss mutually beneficial projects. Items for discussion include an update on the International Bridge, joint Economic Development and an update on the Sault Locks Project. Both cities will also exchange City flags and will take a photo commemorating this significant occasion.

"The importance of this relationship cannot be understated," says Mayor Christian Provenzano of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. "Our two cities share a name, a river, an international bridge and a long rich history dating back hundreds of years. Our relationship is symbolic of the larger relationship of our two countries and demonstrates its strength."

"We are very pleased to have this meeting come together. The busy schedules of both partners have been set aside and we are having our fourth meeting in the public. We look forward to nurturing this relationship and fostering growth to benefit the entire region," states, Mayor Bosbous of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

The Sault Michigan and Sault Ontario Twin City Sister Agreement, solidifies the commitment to ongoing communication with one another and helps foster an environment that encourages engagement and the expansive exploration of mutual goals to positively grow both communities. By creating a culture of collaboration, both cities look forward to further strengthening their relationship and continuing to see good things for the Twin Saults.
