Peoples Road, between Penno Road and Third Line, will be closed beginning Monday, May 4 at 6 a.m. to accommodate Phase 2 of Peoples Road reconstruction project. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately 30 weeks.
Phase 2 of the project includes full reconstruction and the replacement of underground infrastructure, including storm and sanitary sewers, as well as watermains, from north of Penno to north of Third Line. The work will also include the addition of a sidewalk and multi-use trail to enhance accessibility and active transportation options.
To support transit customers affected by the closure, a temporary transfer service will be implemented along the impacted section of the #3 Korah Road bus route. Beginning Monday, May 4 at 6:30 a.m., a designated transfer point will be established at the layover area near People’s Road and Everett Street. Signage will be posted at the affected stops with instructions for riders to contact UCAB at 705-946-1300 to arrange pickup and drop-off. All trips must be booked with UCAB at least 24 hours in advance.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. Construction-related signage, including road closure, directional, and information signs, will be in place to guide traffic safely through the area.
