The City of Sault Ste. Marie is advising electors in Ward 4 and 5 that some Voter Notification Cards for the 2026 Municipal Election may display the incorrect voting location.
The City has identified an issue affecting some Voter Notification Cards in these wards and is taking steps to ensure affected electors receive the correct voting information. The City is working with the Innovation Center to send targeted mail to specific geographic areas in Wards 4 and 5 based on assigned voting locations. Electors in these areas should watch for their special mailer and use the updated information when making their voting plans.
Electors do not need to wait for their Voter Notification Card or special mailer to confirm their voting location. Electors are encouraged to confirm their voting location before casting their ballot by visiting saultstemarie.ca/votinglocation or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 705-759-5388.
A Voter Notification Card is not required to vote. Electors must provide identification showing their name and qualifying address to receive a ballot.
Voting Day is Monday, October 26, 2026. Electors can vote at the location assigned to them based on their address or at one of the Advance Voting Days at the Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ at 619 Bay Street on Wednesday, October 7 from noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, October 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 14 from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
