Call for Artists – Applications Now Open for Paul Mall Alley Display Project

Paul Mall

The Paul Mall Alley Display Project seeks to feature six new visual artists’ work throughout 2026/2027. The display units located at 642 Queen Street East, provide an opportunity for local and regional artists to have an ongoing public space to display and promote their artwork.

Artists are invited to submit one portfolio piece to be digitally reproduced and displayed in the display units along with the artist’s biography, contact information, website, and social media details. Artists working in a broad range of two-dimensional or shallow relief media, including painters, photographers, collage artists, mosaic artists, and street artists, are encouraged to submit their works for consideration.

Artists must be able to provide digital copies of their chosen artwork, meeting the specifications listed in the Call for Artists guidelines. All artworks will be reviewed, and selections will be made by a project selection group. Selected artists will receive an artist’s fee of $600 for the 12-month display period. If an extended showing is possible, artists will receive an additional $50 for each additional month that the artwork is on display.

Applications, including a sample of artwork, will be accepted until Friday, October 3, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. For more information, contact Aliesha Moore, Arts and Culture Lead at 705-989-8240 or by email at a.moore@cityssm.on.ca.
