Downtown Sault Ste. Marie will host a summer street party on Thursday, August 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Enjoy an evening of live entertainment, local shopping, great food, family activities, and community celebration.

Following the cancellation of July’s event due to poor air quality caused by wildfires, August’s Street Party will include two additional downtown blocks, from Brock Street to Dennis Street, offering more to see and experience.

Visitors can enjoy three live music stages with local performers, including the Village Media Stage beneath the canopy at Village Media Headquarters on the corner of Bruce Street, the EDM & DJ Stage near the King Street Alley, and the March Street Stage presented by OLG,

Families can participate in free activities throughout the evening at the Sault Downtown Plaza, including the Entomica Insectarium, The Klubs Obstacle Course, inflatables, mini putt, and a foam party. At the GFL Memorial Gardens, visitors can test their skills on a 30-foot rock climbing wall.

The Plaza will also host Nicole Does Trivia at 7:00 p.m., followed by a free outdoor screening of Jaws at 9:30 p.m., hosted by the Reel Film Forum. Attendees can also enter to win two tickets for a Miss Marie Lock Tour.

Visitors can enjoy refreshments in licensed beverage gardens hosted by OutSpoken Brewing, Soo Falls Brewing Co., and the City of Sault Ste. Marie Canteen, while exploring local shops, restaurants, vendors, and attractions. Be sure to stop by the giveaway tent at the corner of Spring Street and Queen Street for a chance to win one of two $50 Downtown Gift Cards, courtesy of downtown businesses.

“The Downtown Street Party is more than just an evening of entertainment; it’s a celebration of the businesses, artists, organizations, volunteers, and community partners that make downtown Sault Ste. Marie such a vibrant place to gather,” said Josh Ingram, Supervisor of the Downtown Plaza. “With an expanded event and something for everyone to enjoy, we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors for another memorable summer evening downtown.”

The Downtown Street Party is free to attend and welcomes all ages.
