Nominations open for the City’s annual Hallowe’en Spirit Awards

Hallowe’en Spirit awards

The City of Sault Ste. Marie is accepting nominations for the 2026 Hallowe’en Spirit Awards. The annual program recognizes residents and businesses that go above and beyond to showcase their Hallowe’en Spirit.

There are two award categories, residential and business. There is a citywide residential category with first, second, and third-place winners and a business category with one citywide winner.

The Hallowe’en Spirit Awards is hosted virtually on the City’s official Facebook page, giving residents the opportunity to view all submissions and vote for their favourites. To participate, residents are asked to complete a nomination form and upload a photo of their decorated home or business through the City’s website. Winners will be determined by the number of ‘likes’ received on the City’s official Facebook page. Please note that ‘likes’ or shares on personal accounts will not be counted.

Self-nominations are welcome; however, winners in the last year are not eligible. Entries must include a complete nomination form and one photo per household, submitted no later than Friday, October 16, 2026, by 4 p.m. Facebook voting will be open Monday, October 19, 2026, at noon to Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 12 a.m. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Nomination forms are available online at saultstemarie.ca/halloweenspiritawards, and a complete list of nominated properties will be posted at www.saultstemarie.ca.
