Labour Day schedule changes for City facilities

Labour Day Updates

The following City facilities and services will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labour Day.

  • Bay Street Active Living Centre and the Northern Community Centre 55+ programs
  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
  • Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site
  • Fire Services administrative office
  • GFL Memorial Gardens, office and Box Office
  • James L. McIntryre Centennial Library and the North Branch Library
  • John Rhodes Community Centre arenas
  • Northern Community Centre arena and community space
  • Public Works office. For 24-hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201.
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
  • Sault Transit and Parabus service will not operate. The Pointe Des Chenes bus has ended for the season. The main transit office is closed.

Garbage & Recycling Collection

No garbage, leaf, and yard waste or recycling pickup on Monday, September 7. Collection for the remainder of the week will be one day late.

Leaf and Yard Waste are collected on your scheduled garbage day every second week. To view the Leaf and Yard Waste collection calendar, visit saultstemarie.ca/leafyardwaste.

The following facilities and services are open on Monday, September 1:

  • Bellevue Marina is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For fall hours, please refer to onsite signage. Boaters and anglers take advantage of a September Special of 50% off a Bellevue Marina seasonal launch pass, allowing unlimited launch for the rest of the season. Available weekdays at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre.
  • Roberta Bondar Marina is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed for the season after September 1.

 

Pools/Splash Pad

The John Rhodes pool is open during regular scheduled hours. Parent and Child and Lane Swim from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a Public Swim from 1:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Peter G. Manzo and V.E. Greco outdoor pools are open from 1 to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

The Bellevue Park and Manzo Park Splash Pad is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Rotary Interactive Fountain at the Downtown Plaza is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will close for the season after September 7.

Transit Services

Sault Transit and Parabus service will not operate.

The Pointe Des Chenes bus has ended for the season. The Adventure Bus servicing Hiawatha Highlands begins Saturday, September 12, 2026.
