Temporary Road Closure: Queen Street East from Shannon Road to Riverside Drive

Queen Street East from Shannon Road to Riverside Drive will be closed beginning Tuesday, June 14 for a period of three days.

On the morning of Thursday, June 9, the City’s Emergency Management Committee was made aware of an oil spill downstream of Algoma Steel Inc. on the St. Marys River.

The City’s Recreation and Culture Department would like to inform users of the John Rhodes Pool, that the facility will be closed to the public beginning June 20 for a period of three days.

Queen Street East will be closed from Bruce Street to Dennis Street on June 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In June, 2015 the City of Sault Ste. Marie completed a Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment to address challenges in mitigating odours and disposing of biosolids in the working face at the landfill.
