Community Event Road Closure: Du283 Duathlon

Several road closures and traffic disruptions will take place on September 25, 2022 from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. to facilitate the Du283 Duathlon.

Community Event Road Closure: Mocha Shriners Concert Series Street Party

To facilitate the Mocha Shriners Concert Series Street Party, Queen Street East will be closed from Dennis Street to Bruce Street on September 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Adventure Bus now operational, running until November 6

The Adventure Bus operates on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting, travelling three times per day to Hiawatha Highlands.

Notice of Application and Public Meeting Zoning By-law Amendment and New Licensing By-law to Regulate Short Term Rental Accomodations

PURPOSE

The Applicant, The Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie is proposing to amend the Zoning By-law to regulate Short Term Rentals (STRs) often referred to as ‘Airbnbs’. Furthermore, pursuant to Sections 8-11 inclusive and Section 151 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, the City proposes to pass a new Licensing By-law to require Short Term Rental Operators to hold a valid business license from the City of Sault Ste. Marie and to establish licencing guidelines and fees.

Temporary Road Closure: Wellington Street East from Retta Street to Glenholme Drive

The City’s Public Works and Engineering Services Department would like to inform motorists that Wellington Street East from Retta Street to Glenholm Drive, will be closed beginning Thursday, August 25 for a period of two days.
