Pointe Des Chenes Day Park (Beach)
The Pointe Des Chenes day park is a popular destination situated on the shores of Lake Superior, located west of Sault Ste. Marie.
The long sandy beach is the highlight for many who visit the area. There is a day use area with large grass lawns, picnic sites, picnic shelters and washrooms.

Every Saturday and Sunday, from June 29 to September 1, 2024 Sault Transit serves Pointe Des Chenes Day Park. Two buses per day operate from the downtown terminal (12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.) to the Northern Avenue transfer point at Sault College (12:35 p.m. and 4:35 p.m.) and then to Pointe Des Chenes Day Park (1:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.). The bus operates on weekends including statutory holidays in which Transit operates.
Regular fees apply ($3.25 each way) children under the age of 12 are free when accompanied by a responsible adult (age 16 years or older).
Users of the beach should note that there is no lifeguard on duty and all Transit rules apply.
