Bay Street Active Living Centre

The Bay Street Active Living Centre located at 619 Bay Street is a fully accessible facility, housing an auditorium, kitchen, lounge, craft room, games room, computer room, HAM radio room and two multi-purpose rooms.

The Centre works in cooperation with an Advisory Council comprised of various representatives. Programs offered through the Centre encompass the areas of active living, arts & crafts, educational, bus trips, special events and health-related services.

The Centre is easily accessible by car or city bus; there is an enclosed bus shelter at the front of the facility and parking is available at the rear of the building off Russ Ramsay Way. Accessible parking is available.

Hours of Operation

Monday to Friday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
(Evening and weekend bookings by request.)

Services Offered

  • Community liaison with local senior groups and agencies within Sault Ste. Marie.
  • Health-related services provided by community agencies on-site.
  • Personal tours are available upon request.
  • Staff work in cooperation with the host Club 119 to provide programs and services relative to the needs of the seniors utilizing the facilities.
  • Unique summer events are planned by students who operate the Up, Out and Away Program
  • Senior Games, an annual week-long event hosting sixteen sporting/social events to promote healthy active living, fun and fellowship.
  • Volunteers are always welcome and encouraged to help ensure the success of programs.
