The City of Sault Ste. Marie’s Active 55+, in partnership with the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO), will host a free Seniors Active Living Fair on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northern Community Centre.
The event brings together older adults, families, and caregivers to learn about local programs, services, and resources that support healthy, active, and independent living. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with local organizations, attend educational sessions, and take part in demonstrations and other activities.
“This will be an informative day where older adults and caregivers can learn about the services and resources available locally,” said Jennifer Arbour, Supervisor, Senior Services 55+. “We’re also inviting local organizations to take part and share what they offer. It’s a great opportunity to connect directly with the people who may benefit from their programs and services.”
Organizations that offer programs, services, or resources supporting older adults, caregivers, healthy aging, or independent living can reserve a vendor table, present an educational session, or participate in both.
There is no cost for vendors or participants to attend the event. Organizations interested in participating are asked to contact Jennifer Arbour at j.arbour@cityssm.on.ca to reserve a vendor table or discuss opportunities to present an educational session.
The Seniors Active Living Fair is part of an Ontario-wide initiative supported by the OACAO and the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility. Registration is encouraged through the City’s Active 55+ website or by calling 705-254-6474.
