It’s time to request your Vote by Mail kit for the 2026 Municipal Election

The period to apply to vote by special mail-in ballot for the 2026 Municipal Election is now open. Qualified electors receiving a Vote by Mail kit can complete an application form at www.saultstemarie.ca/voterservices. The last day to apply for Vote by Mail is Friday, September 25, 2026.

Vote by mail kits will be mailed to registered electors during the week of September 28, 2026.

Kits may also be picked up at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre beginning October 5, until October 26, 2026 at 8 p.m.

Completed Vote by Mail kits should be placed in the mail by October 15, 2026, to ensure the ballot is counted. Vote by Mail kits may also be returned to the City Clerk’s office at 99 Foster Drive during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or after hours to the outside drop box in front of City Hall. Completed ballots must be returned by regular mail or hand delivery to the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre before 8 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, October 26, 2026.
