The City of Sault Ste. Marie’s street line painting contractor will begin on Monday, July 20, 2026. The program is expected to take approximately one week to complete, weather dependent. Motorists may experience minor traffic delays during this time and are asked to proceed with caution around painting crews and equipment.
Paint trucks travel at slow speeds to ensure accurate application. Drivers are asked to remain behind the buffer vehicle and wait until the painting operation has been completed before passing. Under warm, dry conditions, street paint typically dries within three to four minutes, although drying times may increase depending on temperature and humidity. Drivers are reminded that fresh line paint will permanently adhere to vehicles. Please obey all traffic signage and avoid driving over recently painted lines.
