Summer Bus with Sault Transit

Sault Ste. Marie Transit is pleased to announce its summer 2026 bus initiatives.

Every Saturday and Sunday, from June 20 to August 30, Sault Transit serves Pointe Des Chenes Day Park. Two buses per day operate from the downtown terminal (12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.) to the Northern Avenue transfer point at Sault College (12:35 p.m. and 4:35 p.m.) and then to Pointe Des Chenes Day Park (1:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.). The bus operates on weekends, including statutory holidays, when Transit operates. For anyone traveling to Pointe des Chenes utilizing City Transit, regular fees apply ($3.50 each way). Children under 12 are free when accompanied by a responsible adult (age 16 or older). Users of the beach should note that there is no lifeguard on duty, and all Transit rules apply.

In addition to the beach, the Pointe Des Chenes Disc Golf course is open. Scorecards are available by searching Pointe Des Chenes Disc Golf Park on the UDisc App or on www.discgolfscene.com.

The Best for Kids program begins, which provides free transit for one adult and children to access City family attractions, including the pump track, skateboard park, splash pad, Manzo and Greco pools. Customers must inform the driver upon entry to receive this service. For more information, contact City Transit at 705-759-5438 or email transit@cityssm.on.ca
