Recycling Guide
The recycling cart does not have to be placed out every week and should not be put out unless it is half full. Carts must be placed at least 1 metre (3 feet) in front of or beside fences/retaining walls or vehicles.
Please remove caps/lids and rinse food contents before recycling containers. All food trays, strawberry containers, etc. are not accepted and should be placed in your garbage. Cardboard boxes should be broken down to 2′ x 2′ x 1′ bundles and placed beside the collection cart.
Blue Lid
- Aluminum cans
- No. 1 plastic bottles (i.e. pop bottles)
- No. 2 plastic bottles (i.e. shampoo bottles)
- Glass bottles and jars
- Check product for recycling code and make sure lids are removed
Grey Lid
- Newspapers / Flyers / Magazines
- Cardboard / Boxboard
- Hard / Soft cover books
- Paper egg cartons
- Toilet / Paper towel rolls
- Clean used paper (i.e. printed paper, mail)
Note: Electronics and Fluorescent lights are to be disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
Multi-family Residential Recycling Collection
All multi-family residential buildings have the opportunity to recycle. Blue and yellow bags have been distributed to individual units.
Residents are asked to empty their bags in the larger recycling hoppers located in or just outside of their building.
