Bus Charters

Sault Ste. Marie Transit Services provides buses for intown charters, when buses are available.

Adventure Bus

Sault Transit Adventure Bus runs every Saturday and Sunday from September 6 until November 1, 2025, weather permitting, including statutory holidays when Transit is operational. This service provides access to Kinsmen Park/Hiawatha Highlands and operates twice daily, with the following stops and times:

A child and an adult ride through a bike trail through the forest at Hiawatha
First Departure:
Northern Community Centre: noon
Downtown Bus Terminal: 12:15 p.m.
John Rhodes Community Centre: 12:30 p.m.
Northern Transfer Hub at Sault College: 12:45 p.m.
Arrival at Hiawatha Highlands: 1:00 p.m.
 
Second Departure:
Northern Community Centre: 3:00 p.m.
Downtown Bus Terminal: 3:15 p.m.
John Rhodes Community Centre: 3:30 p.m.
Northern Transfer Hub at Sault College: 3:45 p.m.

Arrival at Hiawatha Highlands: 4:00 p.m.

Return Times:

Depart Hiawatha Highlands: 4:00 p.m.

This seasonal service is an excellent way for students, seniors, and families to explore the area during the peak fall months. Standard transit fares apply both ways, and bicycles are welcome on city buses equipped with front-mounted bike racks at no extra charge (limited to single-seat, two-wheeled bikes).  For more information on Bike Racks, visit the transit page.

Community Bus

The Community Bus is available to everyone, but is specifically designed to accommodate seniors and individuals with special needs.

Stops include shopping malls, retirement homes and grocery stores.

Cash fare for the community bus is $3.50.

Pointe Des Chenes Bus

Every Saturday and Sunday beginning June 24 Sault Transit offers service to Pointe Des Chenes day park.

Two busses per day operate from the downtown terminal (12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.) to the Northern Avenue transfer point at Sault College (12:35 p.m. and 4:35 p.m.) and then to Pointe Des Chenes day park (1:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.).

The bus operates on weekends including statutory holidays in which Transit operates. For anyone travelling to the Point des Chenes day park utilizing City Transit, regular fees apply ($3.50 each way) children under the age of 12 are free when accompanied by a responsible adult (age 16 years or older).

Users of the beach should note that there is no lifeguard on duty and all Transit rules apply.

In addition to the beach, the Pointe Des Chenes Disc Golf course is open. Take advantage of the beautiful views and landscapes while watching your disc sail through the air, hearing the chains rattle with the perfect shot.
