Winter Parking

Motorists are reminded that there is no parking of vehicles on city streets between midnight and 6 a.m. during the winter months.

Parking is prohibited on city streets between midnight and 6 a.m. from November through the end of April.

Persons who disobey By-law 70-200 will receive a $50 fine ($40 if paid within seven days) and may have their vehicle towed. If your vehicle is towed you are responsible for the additional cost of the towing and storage fee at the compound.

Even when there is no snow, the By-law is in effect. Weather predictions may be incorrect and when snow occurs officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are kept busy tagging and towing cars to assist the crews from the Public Works and Transportation Department with snow removal.
