The City of Sault Ste. Marie recognizes the accomplishments of individuals and/or groups through the presentation of various awards.
City Beautification Awards
The
City Beautification Awards program acknowledges local gardeners and community businesses for their significant contributions through creative landscape design, general property maintenance and community building.
Community Development Award
The
Community Development Award recognizes exceptional community development projects. It is presented annually to a local business or organization with the goal of highlighting innovative ideas and inspiring others to meet the standards set by successful projects.
Community Recognition Award
The
Community Recognition Award is offered annually to recognize contribution and commitment in the field of culture. Every individual, group or community organization may make one nomination of an individual, group or organization each year - providing an excellent opportunity to reward local cultural achievement.
Halloween Spirit Award
The
Halloween Spirit Award Program promotes community involvement and recognizes the efforts of residents who decorate up their homes and businesses in the spirit of the Halloween season.
Hockey Hall of Fame
The
Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame recognizes the contributions of players, teams, coaches and referees to the sport of hockey.
Holiday Lighting Awards
The
Holiday Lighting Awards encourage community pride and recognize the efforts of residents who light up their homes and businesses in the spirit of the holiday season.
Medal of Merit Award
The
Medal of Merit is awarded to an individual or group who has achieved provincial or national championship status in an athletic or other competitive endeavour, achieved a standard of excellence in a cultural or academic field, or has made an outstanding contribution to the community.
Municipal Heritage Award
The
Municipal Heritage Award is offered annually upon recommendation of the Sault Ste. Marie Municipal Heritage Committee to recognize contributions to the preservation, restoration and enhancement of the City's Heritage Resources.
Sports Hall of Fame
The
Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame recognizes exceptional achievements in the athletic community. Athletes, coaches, builders and teams are honoured for their accomplishments and the recognition they have brought to Sault Ste. Marie through sport.
Walk of Fame Award
The
