January 27, 2026, update
The City has been in a Significant Weather Event since January 19, 2026.
Environment Canada’s weather alert remains in effect with snow squalls expected today and tonight. Local snowfall amounts of 10 cm or more are possible, with significantly reduced visibility in heavy or blowing snow. Travel will likely be hazardous, and visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.
Public Works crews are working around the clock, sanding, removing snowbanks, plowing sidewalks, and maintaining adequate lane widths and safe visibility at intersections.
The City’s Significant Weather Event declaration remains in place. This does not mean roads are closed or that service levels have changed. It reflects the challenges our crews face in restoring roads and sidewalks to ideal conditions.
Our public works teams are working long hours to keep our City safe and moving. Thank you for your patience
