The City of Sault Ste. Marie reminds residents of schedule changes for Remembrance Day on Tuesday, November 11.
The following facilities and services are closed on Tuesday, November 11:
- Bay Street Active Living Centre and the Northern Community Centre Active 55+ and community programming space
- Cemetery office
- City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
- Sault Downtown Plaza
- GFL Memorial Gardens office and Box Office
- Public Libraries – James L. McIntyre Centennial and North Branch

Garbage and Recycling Collection
There is no garbage, leaf, and yard waste or recycling pickup on Tuesday, November 11. Collection will be one day late following the holiday.

- Curbside collection for leaf and yard waste has been extended this week, weather permitting. The landfill collects leaf and yard waste for free in compostable paper bags during landfill hours. To view the leaf and yard waste collection calendar, visit ca/leafyardwaste.
- The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is closed for the season.
- The Landfill is closed on Saturdays for the season.
The following facilities and services will operate on Tuesday, November 11:
- The Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site
- John Rhodes Community Centre Pool is open for all regular programming, including lessons and swims
- All arenas (GFL Memorial Gardens, John Rhodes Community Centre Arena, and the Northern Community Centre) and indoor turf will be open for scheduled events.
- Regular transit and Parabus will operate as usual on Tuesday, November 11. At 11 a.m., City buses will pull over to observe one minute of silence. For more info, call Sault Transit at 705-759-5438.
The 107th National Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held at the GFL Memorial Gardens on November 11 at 11 a.m.
