Inspections & Enforcement

The Ontario Fire Code and its enabling legislation, the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, establishes fire safety standards for equipment, systems, buildings, structures, lands, and premises. Building and property owners have a responsibility under the Ontario Fire Code to maintain fire safety for their property. The damage and loss caused by fire is greatly reduced by ensuring that your home or building has the required and maintained fire protection systems and safety features.

Sault Fire Services responds to complaints and request inspections related to fire safety concerns. Further, business owners and residents require particular permits that may require inspections. If you have concerns or requests, please contact 705-949-3333 or e-mail fire@cityssm.on.ca
