Easter weekend holiday schedule for City facilities and services

Easter Schedule Changes

The following City facilities will be closed during the Easter holiday period – Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6:

  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
  • Fire Services Administrative office
  • GFL Memorial Gardens administrative office
  • Public Works and Engineering office – 128 Sackville Road. For 24-hour emergency service requests, call 705-759-5201.
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre – 99 Foster Drive
  • Sault Transit main office

Garbage and Recycling Collection

There is no garbage or recycling pickup on Friday, April 3. Friday’s garbage and recycling collection will be Saturday, April 4.

The City’s landfill will be closed on Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6. The landfill will be open on Saturdays beginning April 18.

The City’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot will open to the public for the season beginning April 21 and will operate Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ — Closed Friday, April 3. Open Saturday, April 4, for scheduled programming; closed Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6.

GFL Memorial Gardens— Open for scheduled programming on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6.

John Rhodes — Closed Friday, April 3, and Sunday, April 5. Open for scheduled programming on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6.

John Rhodes Community Centre Pool — The pool is open holiday hours Friday, April 3, and Sunday, April 5, with parent and child/lane swim 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and public swimming 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. Regular programming on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6. Marina — Bellevue Marina seasonal boat launch passes are for sale at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre Community Services office (lobby level). The cost is $70. Cash, debit, and credit card (in-person or over the phone) are accepted.  

Northern Community Centre Arena – Closed Friday, April 3, and Sunday, April 5. Open for scheduled programming on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6.

Northern Community Centre turf and community space – Closed Friday, April 3, and Sunday, April 5. Open Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6, for scheduled bookings. 

Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site — Open Saturday, April 4, for Easter egg hunt activities. Register online at www.saultstemarie.ca/ECNHSevents. Closed Friday, April 3, Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6.

Public Libraries—All libraries will be closed on Friday, April 3, Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6. The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library and North Branch will be open Saturday, April 4, for regular operational hours.

Transit Service — Transit and Parabus will not operate on Friday, April 3. Regular weekend service for transit and Parabus runs Saturday and Sunday. Regular weekday service resumes Monday, April 21. For transit information, call 705-759-5438.
