Apply now for the 2026 Summer Company program

 Are you a student with a creative business idea? Applications are now being accepted for the Young Entrepreneur Program – Summer Company. The program provides funding, training, and mentoring to help high school and postsecondary students start a seasonal business.

The program is open to youth ages 15 – 29 who are returning to school in the fall. Approved participants receive a grant of up to $3,000 to start and operate a summer business. Full program eligibility and guidelines can be found on the Government of Ontario’s website. The application deadline is May 15, 2026.

Over the last 5 years, over 45 businesses in the Algoma region have been started through Summer Company. Funded by the Province of Ontario, the program is administered by the City of Sault Ste.
