The City of Sault Ste. Marie is inviting residents to a public consultation event on accessibility and inclusion within our community. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Northern Community Centre (556 Goulais Avenue).

Designed as a “come and go” session, the event offers residents an opportunity to share their experiences, ideas, and feedback on how to make Sault Ste. Marie more accessible to everyone. Community input will help guide future initiatives and improvement in key areas, including:

  • Public spaces, such as parks, sidewalks, and recreational facilities
  • Accessible transit services
  • The City’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and Accessibility Policies
  • Future accessibility priorities and emerging community needs
  • The Active Transportation Master Plan, as it relates to non-motorized users

An American Sign Language interpreter (ASL interpreter) will be available on site, and accessible formats of information can be provided upon request.  Residents are encouraged to get involved and help shape the future of accessible services, transportation, and recreational opportunities in Sault Ste. Marie.
