Victoria Day Schedule Changes - City facilities and services

The City of Sault Ste. Marie reminds citizens of the following service interruptions and schedule changes for the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 22.
 
Administrative Offices:
The Cemetery office, GFL Memorial Gardens, Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre, Sault Transit main office, Fire Services Administration office and Public Works and Engineering Services office will be closed.
 
Recreation:
  • The GFL Memorial Gardens, McMeeken Centre, the Northern Community Centre, Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site and public libraries will be closed. 
  • The John Rhodes pool is open Monday, May 22 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Parent & Child/Lane Swim and from 1:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for Public Swim.
  • Outdoor recreational amenities, including baseball diamonds, soccer fields, disc golf locations, tennis courts, pickleball courts and skate parks will be open.
  • Outdoor sports facilities, outdoor fitness equipment, playgrounds and outdoor picnic sites will be open.
  • Parks and recreational areas including trails are open.
  • Off-leash dog parks, outdoor playgrounds, outdoor play structures and play equipment are open.
  • Bike rentals will be available at the Bondar Marina during regular operating hours. 
Marine Facilities

Bellevue Marina – open May 20 to June 30. Daily 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 2 to September 4 Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bondar Marina – will open May 26 to June 30. Daily 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 2 to September 4 Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Seasonal launch passes are $69.00 and are available from the fuel kiosk at Bellevue marina during regular operating hours or at the Community Development and Enterprise Services office at the Civic Centre. Debit or Credit card is preferred. You can also register for a boat pass launch online. A new daily launch dispenser machines accept coins, debit, and credit for a flat rate of $7. Boaters can also download the PassportParking mobile app and use zone 3759 for daily launch.

Garbage and Recycling Collection
There is no garbage, leaf and yard waste or recycling pickup on Monday, May 22. Collection for the week will be one day late.

The City’s landfill will be closed on Monday, May 22. Regular hours are Monday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
 
The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is open Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
