Learn more about the Housing Grant Program on February 12

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has launched a Housing Grant Program to increase housing options and meet the community’s growing needs. The program financially supports homeowners, property developers, and non-profit organizations in creating rental suites or building multi-unit developments. A public open house will be held for the community to discuss the grant program.
Date: February 12, 2025
Time: 4 – 7 p.m. (drop-in format). Formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Russ Ramsay Room, Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre, 3rd Floor.
The Housing Grant Program offers funding for various projects that result in new residential units, including the addition of secondary suites, basement apartments, and rental units to existing homes. Multi-unit housing developments and affordable housing projects led by non-profit organizations are also eligible.
The community is encouraged to attend the open house to learn more about the program and its aim to improve housing availability and affordability in Sault Ste. Marie. Applications for the Housing Grant Program are now being accepted. For more information, visit
