City Clerk

The City Clerk’s primary task is to function as the corporate secretary to City Council, ensuring that all Council Agendas, Minutes of proceedings, resolutions, decisions, voting, records are recorded, documented and certified.

As well, the Clerk’s Department is responsible for the management of corporate records, the administration of municipal elections, coordinating the corporate strategic plan, the sale of municipal cemetery interment rights, management of cemetery records, and the coordination of civic receptions.

The City Clerk is a Division Registrar for the Provincial Office of the Registrar General and is responsible for the registration and recording of all deaths occurring in the municipality, as well as the issuance of marriage licences.

Corporate Communications

The Corporate Communications Department provides professional communication services and technical advice to the Corporation. It provides a lead role in implementing the City’s Corporate Communications Strategy. Information is communicated to the public and employees on behalf of City Council and City management with respect to corporate and public relations.

The City website and social media platforms are managed in this area.
