Mayor for a Day
Do you want to be the Mayor for a day?
The City of Sault Ste. Marie is accepting submissions for the 2023 Mayor for a Day contest. Students are asked to submit a letter, video or any other creative piece that answers these questions:

If you were the Mayor, what would you do?

What are the things you like most about Sault Ste. Marie?
What does the winner receive?

A pizza party for their class
-
A tour of City Hall

A picture with the Mayor in his office

An opportunity to attend and open a City Council meeting
Contest Rules and Information

The deadline for submissions is June 19 and the winner will be announced on June 20. The winner will open the City Council meeting on June 24.

The contest is open to Grade 5 and Grade 6 students only.

Participants must submit a fully completed entry form which includes their first and last name, age, school, grade, contact phone number, name of parent/guardian and signature of parent/guardian.

Participants may submit only one idea per response.

If you are the successful candidate, the principal of your school will be contacted and they will contact you directly

Please note that if you are not the successful candidate, your application and idea was greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing your next submission in the future.
