Advance Voting opportunities begin this weekend

The first of three Advance Vote days is Saturday, October 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre. Additional Advance Vote days will be held at the Civic Centre on Wednesday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

An Accessible Vote Tabulator will be available on Advance Vote days to allow electors with disabilities to vote privately and independently using a ballot marker device. The elector is provided with a hand-held vote selector, or paddles or sip-and-puff and a set of headphones to navigate through an audio version of the ballot. The Canadian Hearing Society will also be on site to provide sign language interpreter services between noon and 2 p.m. Magnifying tools to assist individuals with visual impairments will be available at every voting location on October 24. 

Sault Ste. Marie Transit will provide free bus service to customers who present their Voter Notification Card on Advance Vote days and on Voting Day. Electors should receive their Voter Notification Card in the mail this week. 
Electors must provide identification when they vote, showing their name and qualifying address to receive a ballot. The voter notification card is not mandatory to vote. 
Students may vote both in their home community and in the Ontario municipality at which they attend post-secondary school.
