2022 Municipal Election – Voting from Home deadline approaching
Tuesday, October 11, 2022
The deadline to register to Vote from Home is
Thursday, October 13 at 4:30 p.m. If there are barriers preventing an elector from voting at an Advance Vote Day (Wednesday, October 12 and Saturday, October 15) or on Voting Day (Monday, October 24, 2022), electors may register for a home visit to cast a ballot.
During the Vote from Home program, an election team member will visit a registered residence to provide a ballot. The ballot is marked in the same way as if it were at a regular poll. An envelope system is in place to protect the secrecy of the vote. The ballot is placed in a sealed ballot box to be counted after the polls close on Voting Day.
A Voting from Home application form can be completed online at
saultstemarie.ca/votefromhome or by calling 705-989-5610. Once the application has been reviewed and accepted, a member of the elections team will contact the elector to schedule a home visit. Home voting will occur during the week of October 17. Home voting is not available on Voting Day.
