Voice your choice for City Council and School Board Trustees

Monday, October 22, 2018

The municipal election to elect a Mayor, City Councillors and School Board trustees will be held today, Monday, October 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can find their voting location online by using the ‘Voter Services’ tool on the City's website. Voter notification cards were mailed to residents in early October.

Identification

Provincial law requires that voters provide identification showing both their name and qualifying address as shown on the Voters List. A Passport is not an acceptable form of identification; neither is your ‘You Vote at Card'. If you did not receive a Voter Notification card, you can still vote provided you have identification showing your name and qualifying address.

Voting by Proxy

Any qualified elector may appoint another person who is a qualified elector in the same municipality to vote on his/her behalf. An Appointment for Voting Proxy Form - Form 3 (English Form / French Form) must be completed and returned to the Clerks office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 22 in order to be sworn.

Accessibility

Tools to assist individuals with visual impairments will be available at all voting stations.

Curbside Voting

For those voters unable to go inside the voting place without unreasonable difficulty, curbside voting will be offered. An election official will bring a ballot box to your vehicle.

Free Transit

Use your Voter Notification card to access free transit to and from your voting location on Voting Day.

If you have any questions call the City Clerks office at 705-759-5388 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For additional information, visit saultstemarie.ca/election.
