Temporary lane closure - Wellington Street East and Queen Street East

There will be temporary lane closures on Wellington Street East and Queen Street East beginning Wednesday, July 5, 2023, for a period of four months. The traffic diversion is required to accommodate the reconstruction of Biggings Avenue.
The westbound vehicular lane and cycling lane on Queen Street East from Woodward Avenue to Simpson Street will be closed. Westbound vehicular traffic will be maintained and will use the center turn lane. Wellington Street East from Church Street to Simpson Street will close two lanes of traffic. The road will be reduced to two lanes of traffic (one lane in each direction).
During this time, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists should be cautious in the area and obey all signage. The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks its citizens for their patience and cooperation during this temporary road closure.
