Draft Official Plan Public Consultation

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has released a draft Official Plan with a revised set of policy directives. The City’s Official Plan guides the local decision-making on land use, development and public infrastructure over the next 20 years. Public input is paramount to ensure the Plan reflects the overall vision of residents and stakeholders.
The Planning Department will host two in-person consultation sessions and one Zoom presentation to discuss the draft Official Plan and gather public input. All are welcome to attend one of the sessions and share questions and comments with City staff.
In-person, Public Consultation #1
When: Tuesday, June 7, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (drop in any time)
Where: Northern Community Center, 556 Goulais Avenue.
In-person Public Consultation #2
When: Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (drop in any time)
Where: Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+, 619 Bay Street.
Virtual Public Consultation
When: Thursday, June 16, 2022, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (presentation and Q&A).
