Annual City Beautification Awards to return in 2019

Members of the City Beautification organizing committee would like to inform residents that the 2018 City Beautification Awards will not take place this year but will return in 2019.
In consultation with local gardeners and greenhouses, the cold winter and late start to spring this season has caused severe damage to perennials and nursery stock. Periods of cold, frosty weather during April and May contributed to problems for gardeners, damaging plant growth and killing tender plants. As a result, the committee agreed to pause its annual awards for one year.
The committee thanks local sponsors and contributors for their continued support in working diligently to make their properties and our city an attractive place to live.
