Nine students start businesses under Summer Company program

Tuesday, July 7, 2020

Nine local youths are now operating their own firms under Summer Company. The young entrepreneur program provides grants and mentoring to assist high school and post-secondary students in starting a seasonal business. This initiative is administered by the Economic Development division of the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

“The Summer Company program is a great opportunity for local youth to develop an understanding of operating a small business,” said Mayor Christian Provenzano. “I wish all of the participants the best of luck, and I want to encourage people to support them. Our community will be stronger with increased youth participation in shaping our future, and this program continues to help bring ideas to fruition and turn them into successful businesses.”
