City Council appoints new City Clerk

City Council approved a by-law at its meeting on Monday, July 15 appointing Rachel Tyczinski as City Clerk. She replaces outgoing City Clerk Malcolm White, who officially begins his duties as Chief Administrative Officer on Tuesday, July 16. Ms. Tyczinski also begins her duties as City Clerk on Tuesday, July 16.
 
Ms. Tyczinski has been the Deputy City Clerk & Manager of Quality Improvement since March 1, 2010. Previous to that appointment she held the position of Corporate Affairs Officer from 2005 to 2010. Prior to working for the City, she was employed by the Township of Prince as Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer from 1993 to 2005 and as a Legal Assistant with Ian Hugill from 1979 to 1993. 
 
Ms. Tyczinski holds the Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) designation from AMCTO and serves as an instructor for AMCTO’s Municipal Administration Program. She currently sits on the Community Development Corporation.
