City Updates on Freezing Rain Conditions

With the significant freezing rain conditions and decreasing temperatures, the City's would like to provide the following updates and reminders.

Garbage collection and recycling scheduled for Tuesday will be cancelled. Next Tuesday's collection shall allow for a four a (4) bag limit for those routes affected.

As of 8 p.m. Transit Services will end for the evening. Operations are expected to resume as normal tomorrow morning.

All programming at City arenas and the Northern Community Centre will be closed for the remainder of the evening.

Motorists are reminded to drive according to the conditions and allow space for heavy equipment operators to clear and sand roadways safely and efficiently.

Pedestrians are cautioned of slippery conditions on sidewalks due to the decreasing temperatures.

The parking by-law remains in effect with motorists not permitted to park on city streets during the winter months between midnight and 6 a.m.
