Significant weather event update

Public Works is starting its snow removal efforts this evening. The focus will be on the main then collector roadways most effected by the significant snowfall. The clearing of residential areas and designated sidewalks will occur once the main roadways and collector roads are cleared.
To assist with operations, residents are asked to remove vehicles parked on City streets.
By-law 77-200, outlines that motorists shall not park on the street so as to interfere with the clearing of snow. Parking of vehicles on city streets is not permitted between midnight and 6 a.m. Officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Special Constables from NORPRO Security will tag and tow cars to assist Public Works with snow removal. Vehicles parked on the road during this time may be towed at the owner’s expense.
