Are you an artist located in Sault Ste. Marie or Algoma? Please contact us! The City of Sault Ste. Marie is launching an arts and culture portal to highlight our local artists, organizations, and creatives!
Artists of all ages, disciplines, and levels of practice are encouraged to contact the Community Services Department by email at
csd@cityssm.on.ca to be included in the new portal and directory.
“It’s important that we build and maintain an online space to highlight our local artistic community and their works. By building this digital capacity we can help to provide a place where artists and their organizations can be showcased, found, and contacted quickly and easily, helping to simplify the connection process for artists, creatives, and contacts alike to be able to interact easily and find resources,” said Aliesha Moore, Arts & Culture Lead with the City of Sault Ste. Marie.
Interested artists, organizations, or creative partners can find out more details and submit their information for inclusion on the website by visiting the City’s website and by completing and
submitting this form. While the artist inventory will be maintained and updated on an ongoing basis, artists are asked to fill out and submit their application forms prior to September 15, 2022 in hopes of launching the portal by mid autumn.
"We have such a rich tapestry of artistic creativity happening actively across our community – we can’t wait to be able to assist in providing an up to date, digital assembly of our artists and their contributions,” McLeod concluded.
