Ride the “Superior Rocket” this summer

Ever wanted to ride around Lake Superior at speeds of up to 90KM/h in a military-style boat? Then look no further because your Hurricane Zodiac adventure awaits.
From August 7 – 15, 2021,
Sail Superior will be operating their world renowned Zodiac tours from the Roberta Bondar Marina. Each ride can accommodate ten passengers and includes an experienced tour guide and expert captain. Offering both private and public tours, passengers can explore a vast range of the beautiful Sault Ste. Marie waterfront through three unique tour options highlighting Bruce Mines, Isle Parisienne, Goulais Bay and more.
Soo Rapid Tour (5-hours)
Passengers boarding the half-day excursion can choose their own adventure heading east past Garden River, St. Joseph’s Island and as far as Bruce Mines, or west through the locks past Gros Cap into Goulais Bay and Lake Superior. This tour is booked as a private group of up to ten people making this ride ideal for families, corporate team building or birthday parties.
The Soo Lock Scramble (90-minute tour)
Passengers boarding the 90-minute Soo Lock Scramble will ride through the historic Sault Ste. Marie Canal before arriving at the picturesque Gros Cap bluffs and then blast out into Lake Superior for an adventure thrill ride hopping giant waves in the big lake.
St. Mary’s River Rip (60-minute tour)
Passengers aboard the St. Mary’s River Rip will experience the excitement of ripping east along the shorelines of the St. Mary’s River as far as Garden River. This ride includes an interpretive guide on board to highlight the nautical and historical features of our community.
“Bringing Sail Superior to Sault Ste. Marie for this nine-day trial is part of our larger initiative to invest in new tourist attractions within the City of Sault Ste. Marie,” states Travis Anderson, Director of Tourism and Community Development. “Recent projects have included the development of new mountain biking trails in the Hiawatha Highlands and the installation of public kayak launches on the waterfront coming this summer. We are committed to investing in and growing our tourism opportunities in Sault Ste. Marie and this latest initiative, in partnership with Sail Superior, is just another example of our City’s and Tourism Sault Ste. Marie’s progressive vision.”
