Local Small Business Centre continues to help new businesses

Tuesday, April 13, 2021

The Millworks Centre for Entrepreneurship has assisted fourteen new businesses with their operations through the Starter Company Plus program over the past year.
Starter Company Plus is open to non-student entrepreneurs ages 18 and over. The program provides training for business owners looking to start or expand their operations and receive a micro grant and mentoring to support their full time venture. The training focuses on what is required to start a new business and highlights the importance of business planning, while the mentoring assists in specifics such as financial and marketing sectors.
The businesses that began or expanded their operation through the program over the past year include:
  • Woodstar Counselling and Consulting (Counselling and Therapy Services)
  • Hogan’s Homestead (Maple Syrup Producer)
  • Jeremy’s Plumbing & Heating (Plumbing and Heating)
  • Naomi Sayers (Barrister/Solicitor)
  • OnPoint CorkShield (Thermal Spray Cork Insulation)
  • HD&R (Home Design and Renovation)
