Storm Water Art Project

Local artists are invited to submit a design and participate in our storm water drain outreach project.
The goal is to have these paintings bring awareness to potential pollutants entering the drainage system. Designs should draw attention to the storm drainage system located throughout the city, and educate the public on the connection of the drainage system to the St. Mary’s River.
This project represents an opportunity for local artists to display their creativity, while making a difference in the community.

Six artists will be selected to paint their design and receive a $250 honorarium (painting supplies will be provided).
Artist Requirements
Artists must live in Sault Ste. Marie. Please download one of the two design templates (located below) and complete the information on it. Include a coloured drawing of your proposed design with your submission.
The deadline for submissions is August 8 at 4:30 p.m. and painting will take place between August 15 to 31 (based on artist availability).
