National Lifeguard Course Information
Fitness skills - Candidates must be able to do the following by the end of the course:

20lb brick retrieval
-
15 meter underwater swim
-
50 meter swim in 60 second or less
-
400 meter swim in 10 minutes or less
Prerequisites - Candidate must be 16 years of age before the exam date, have successfully completed Bronze Cross as well as Standard First Aid CPR C which must be from either Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross, or Canadian Ski Patrol.

Water Safety Instructor Course Information
Prerequisites - Must be 15 years or older, able to swim at a swim kids 10 level and successfully completed Bronze Cross (AWSI is no longer required).
