Road Cutting Required to Mitigate Potential Flooding

Friday, November 21, 2014

The Public Works and Transportation Department (PWT) would like to advise residents that crews will be cutting roads once the snow plowing operations finish later today. The amount of snowpack on roads requires the cutting to mitigate potential flooding in the upcoming days, as rain is forecasted.

If the location of catch basins is known, and can be safely opened up by residents – this help is appreciated. If cutting is occurring in your area, please remove any vehicles from the roadway to assist with this effort.

If Thursday was your garbage and recycling day, all containers should be removed from the curb. All waste and recycling from Thursday’s route will be picked up next week.

The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks citizens for their cooperation and understanding during this time.

For more information please contact the PWT office at 705-759-5201.
