Reminder: Sault Freecycle takes place this weekend!
May 28, 2015
Residents are encouraged to participate in Sault Freecycle 2015 taking place Saturday, May 30. Sault Freecycle is a voluntary Green initiative intended to reduce the amount of unwanted items thrown away at the City landfill.
To participate, place unwanted re-usable household items at the curb in front of your home on May 30 with a sign or stickers indicating FREE for take-away by neighbours and other residents. Residents living in apartments or condominiums should get approval from their landlord before bringing items curbside. Sault Freecycle happens rain or shine - use your discretion when deciding whether to put items at the curb.
Examples of 'freecycling' items include: books, CDs and DVDs; furniture, electronics and small appliances; sports equipment and toys; yard and gardening tools and equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, snow blowers, rakes, shovels); kitchen gadgets, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans; construction materials (e.g., nails, paint, wood); and clothing. Please do not leave out mattresses or unsafe items such as baby walkers or lawn darts.
Items not picked up by 9 p.m. Saturday evening are the responsibility of the homeowner/residents and must be returned to their homes. Leftover objects will not be collected by the City's Public Works and Transportation Department.
Consider donating unclaimed items to a charitable organization listed at www.facebook.com/saultfreecycle
