Public Input Sought as City Plans For Future

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has used a strategic planning process as part of an overall quality improvement program since 2001. A new corporate strategic plan is created every four years to reflect City Council's priorities.
The City's strategic plan is used to make decisions about the allocation of resources to achieve specific goals, guiding the activities of departments reporting to City Council through the Chief Administrative Officer.
It is important to note that the plan is corporate in nature. In other words, it addresses issues which are within the control of the municipality, as opposed to broader community issues beyond its jurisdiction.
Public input is welcomed and encouraged as City Council embarks on a strategic planning exercise to guide activities for the balance of this term of Council.
