Registrations Accepted For 2016 Immigration Forum

Registrations are being accepted for the 6th Annual Immigration Forum taking place March 16, 2016 at Grand Gardens North - 1324 Great Northern Road (former Riuniti location).

Hosted by the Sault Ste. Marie Local Immigration Partnership, the Forum brings together representatives from all sectors, newcomers and the general public in an effort to create awareness of cultural diversity and racial harmony.

Participants will learn about new or enhanced programs and services, discuss community progress, and hear about newcomer experiences with moving to the Sault Ste. Marie community.

Presentations include:
  • Northern Ontario Immigration Retention and Recruitment - Dr. Michael Haan
  • Algoma's Aging Population and Aging Workforce - Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation
  • A Perspective on Becoming Canadian - Pramod Shukla, Chief Operating Officer, Essar Algoma Steel
  • Table Presentations: Sault Community Career Centre, Algoma University, Algoma District School Board, Professions North/Nord, Refugee705, and Local Immigration Partnership
  • Newcomer Panel
Local service providers and cultural clubs will also provide information about their programs and how to get involved. The 2016 Immigration Forum offers a day of inspiration, education and growth.
