Tall Ship El Galeón Andalucía will drop anchor in Sault Ste. Marie
Monday, August 8, 2016
The Tall Ship El Galeón Andalucía will anchor at the Roberta Bondar Park waterfront Friday, August 12 - Sunday, August 14.
The 160-foot Galeón Andalucía is the replica of the type of vessel used by the Spanish Crown for maritime expeditions during the 16th through the 18th centuries. Galleons were intended to discover and then establish trade routes between Spain, America and the Philippines islands, and formed the then called Fleet of the Indies.
Converted into a floating museum filled with many exhibits and 6 decks to explore, this Tall Ship can be viewed from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday, August 12, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children (5-12 years old), with family packages available (2 adults and 3 children) for $30, and can be purchased at the Roberta Bondar Transient Marina from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily.
