The Parabus is a specialized, curb-to-curb public transit service for persons with physical disabilities.
If you are unable to walk the distance of 175 meters and cannot board a regular transit bus by climbing the three steps, you are eligible to ride the Parabus. An individual who is confined to a wheelchair or receives hemo-dialysis treatments is also eligible to use the service.
Applications forms confirming eligibility are available below or at the Sault Ste. Marie Transit office located at 111 Huron Street (across from the Ontario Travel Information Centre). Forms can also be received by mail by calling 705-942-1404.
Applications take approximately 5 to 10 days to process. Once reviewed, and if approved, a letter and brochure will be sent to you.
Applications must be completed by a physician, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist.
If you have any comments or suggestions regarding the Parabus service, email firstname.lastname@example.org
